Other Types of Servers

Do you have a special component which your website requires?  This could be a C++, Java based, or Perl application which needs to run in the background on the server.  We can support this type of special request.

This type of service is generally unique to the individual web site's requirements.  This could be a special shopping cart wizard or a chat server which runs on the server in the background waiting for requests.  This type of server is generally faster than normal CGI processes because the server is always running.

Yes, if you have purchased or written software which either requires a root level installation or which you just simply do not have the know-how to install, we can install it for you.  If you are buying software to run on our servers, we recommend obtaining a money back guarantee to protect against unexpected installation problems.  Because of the varying quality of 3rd party software, we cannot guarantee will operate properly.

There is a base setup fee of $60 to enable the server process and add it to the system startup scripts.  Any additional installation fees will be based on the hourly rate of $60/hour.

Monthly pricing will depend on the support level which you require for the server.  If your server process uses a large amount of system usage, it may be stopped at our descretion.  Monthly charges may also be higher.

Basic Support : $10/month*

We will allow your server process to run.  There will be no internal monitoring of the process.  If the process should stop, it is up to you to let us know.  Our staff will respond to the problem within our normal support hours.

Plus Support : $20/month*

We will allow your server process to run and we will add it to our system monitors.  If the server stops running for some reason, the monitor will generate an email to both your staff and ours.  Our staff will respond to the problem within our normal support hours.

* Pricing includes restarting the server process (during support hours) twice a month if it should stop.  There will be a $30 charge, based on 1/2 hour of Tech Support, for any additional incidents.

For mission critical operation.  This will allow your server process to run.  It will be added to our system monitors as with the Plus Support, but also includes pager support.  In addition to the monitor generating an email, it will also generate a pager message which will be sent to our on-call support staff.   We will contact you via phone within 1 hour to confirm the status of your server process.  There is a $100 per incident charge.  If we fail to contact you within that 1 hour, this charge is waived.

 

If you have a simple script/task that does NOT require an ongoing server running process, but needs to be scheduled to run on a regular basis, we can set it up for you.  There is a one-time $30 charge.  You must fully test the script before we schedule it in cron and be certain that it operates correctly.  Any debugging by our staff is subject to additional fees.

Once you have the script tested, please provide us with the location of the script and the exact days/times you want the script to run.   Also provide us with an E-Mail address where the script output should be sent.  Note that if the script produces any output, an E-Mail message will be generated every time the script gets executed.

You must notify our staff anytime you make modifications to the script.
