We support the registration of domains for as low as
$10/year, and also offer aliased and subdomain service so that you can have multiple
domain names directing visitors to the same web site. These rates stay
the same when you renew -- some providers give you a low initial price, with
much higher renewal fees! Be sure to check.

We can host web sites from any domain. For subscribers who are signing up or already have web/email service with us we are now
able to offer deeply discounted domain registration. These are offered through the OpenSRS Registrar.
On new orders we will register your domain using the information you provided on our order form. If you just want to reserve your name
(Register Only service) the annual fee is twice the rate displayed above.

This can give you another web site for a very low monthly cost by sharing
disk space with a current site. At this level of service, if you have an existing web site with us, i.e.
www.icecream.com, we can redirect traffic for another domain you own:
www.milkshakes.com,
to a subdirectory of your existing site (icecream.com). To visitors it would look like a
unique site.
The additional site would include email service, but most other Control Panel
functionality would be available for the main site. Statistics would just
be merged with those from the main site. The cost is $5/month. Check our
comparison table for other rates.
| Domain Transfers from another Registrar |
If you have service with us and your domain (com, .org, .net, .biz or .info) is
presently registered with another Registrar, e.g. Network Solutions or Register.Com -- we
can transfer your domain and you would have lower annual renewal fees. The following
preconditions apply:
- You already have service with us for that domain and name server information has been
updated.
- The domain name must have been registered for at least 60 days.
- The domain must not be "On Hold" by the current registrar.
- You Admin Contact E-mail address with the current registrar is correct. This
one is crucial. You must update this with your current registrar -- we
do not have any way to change it for you.
Then just send a message to service@thebook.com
requesting a Registrar change and we will start the process. Unlike name server
changes which are approved by you, a Registrar change also requires approval from the
Registrar. These types of requests take at least 5 days to process. There is a
one time fee of $15 for us to process the request. You will also be charged for
one additional year of registration, this is ADDED to your current expiration
date. You do no lose credit for remaining time.
If you do not want a web site, but want to register a domain and use E-mail. This
includes unlimited E-Mail forwarding AND 30 POP mailboxes on
our servers. There is no setup fee, and just $10/month.
If you have an existing web site with us, i.e. www.icecream.com, we can register
additional names and have the same web site respond: www.ice-cream.com will share the same
home page (email is not included). There is no monthly fee for this
service and no setup charge.
If you have an existing web site with us, i.e. www.icecream.com, we can create a
subdomain: www.topings.icecream.com and redirect traffic to a subdirectory of your main
site.
The cost is $5/month.
| Route Mail to your Mail Server |
If you are one of our subscribers and have the software/hardware necessary to run your
own mail server. We can route all E-Mail to your machine. You just need to supply with the
name/IP number of your mail server (it must always keep the same address).
No charge for nominal use.
| Name Service for a Home/Office PC |
Maybe you want to run your own private web server (or even a home/office Web-Cam). If
you have an unchanging IP number assigned to your PC, we can give that machine a name on
the Internet, i.e. webcam.ice-cream.com
We can set ONE up for you on a trial basis at no charge. Just give us the IP address
and name you want to use for the machine. After that there is a minimum $20 charge each
time you make any additions/corrections. No monthly charge for nominal use.
